Bespoke Machined Components
From a sketch to a fully dimensioned drawing — we turn your requirement into a proven, production-ready component.
Bespoke Machined Components
Not every requirement can be answered from a catalogue. You might need a component that doesn’t yet exist, a redesign of a part that never quite worked, or a replacement for a legacy item whose original drawings are long gone. Whatever the starting point, Tetraflex can take it from idea to finished part.
Our bespoke service applies to the machined side of our range — the turned, milled and finished components made to drawing. It pairs design capability with our manufacturing network, so a single team carries your component through every stage — defining it, designing it, proving it and producing it. You stay in control of the decisions; we carry the engineering and supply-chain load. Whether you need one specialist part or the components for an entire new line, the process is the same: considered, collaborative.
How it works - From Concept to Production
1 · Define the requirement
Everything begins with a conversation about what the component must do — its function, operating environment, materials, tolerances and any standards it has to meet. Arrive with a complete drawing or simply a description of the problem; either way, we work with you to establish a clear, agreed specification before anything else.
2 · Design & CAD
If you don’t already have your own drawings, our team then develops the component in CAD, producing detailed 3D models and fully dimensioned drawings for your review. We work to standard CAD formats, including STEP and IGES, so collaboration with your own engineers is seamless. Nothing proceeds to manufacture without your sign-off.
3 · Prototype & sample approval
Where a requirement warrants it, we produce prototype or first-off samples and subject them to full dimensional and material inspection. You receive samples and documentation to evaluate, fit and approve — a deliberate checkpoint that de-risks the design and confirms the part performs as intended before any commitment to volume.
4 · Production
On approval, we will source from the most appropriate manufacturer — selected for the right process capability, material expertise and quality systems. Quality assurance, certification and traceability are managed throughout, so what reaches you is compliant and consistent.
5 · Ongoing supply
A bespoke part rarely ends at the first batch. We manage repeat production, scheduling, stock and documentation for the life of the component — turning a one-off design into a dependable, on-demand line item you never have to source again.
What we can produce
Our bespoke capability spans a broad range of precision machined components and materials, including:
- Turned components, including complex multi-diameter profiles
- Milled components, housings and brackets
- Bored, drilled and tapped parts held to close tolerances
- Specialist fittings, connectors and end terminations
- Components in stainless steel, aluminium alloys, mild steel, brass, titanium, engineering plastics and exotic alloys
- Parts requiring secondary operations — heat treatment, grinding, plating, anodising and surface finishing
If your requirement isn’t listed here, it almost certainly still sits within our capability. The best next step is simply to talk to us.
